Open enough to be light as air and slouchy enough to be effortlessly worn, Timbrel is the quintessential warm weather hat. The gentle swirl of the diagonal lace brings to mind spring breezes and the nubby silk in the mix is natural like summer hair allowed to dry freely in the sun. The way the eyelets continue to swirl seamlessly to the very top reminds me of perfectly executed soft serve ice cream. This is spring and summer casual chic at its best.
Hat is worked in the rnd on circ needles from the bottom up. Double pointed needles are used for the decreases at the crown.

From Talitha’s window, you look down into the yard she played in as a little girl. From the bottom porch step, you look up at Orion’s Belt hovering above the garage. Somewhere between these two, created space and childhood, you can find her in the tangerine velvet chair contentedly knitting something new as her children grow up right before her very eyes. She writes about whatever catches her eye here: www.talithakuomi.com/blog .
