Learn to Spin & Beyond
- Donna Kay
This class is for the new or beginning spinner who has the desire to create unique handspun yarns. A more experienced spinner can practice refining their technique to produce a higher quality yarn. From raw fleece to roving, we will take a hands on approach to choosing and preparing wools of various sheep breeds. Commercial preparations will be sampled and discussed. Emphasis will be placed on the student becoming comfortable with the wheel and handling the wool. Learn to ply, finish and measure your yarns and start a sample notebook. A spinning wheel is required, or we have a few to rent. Please call to reserve.
