Beginning Tapestry Weaving and Beyond
- Tom Jipson
August 28 - 31 (Tues. - Fri.)
Beginning students will start with a sampler to learn a number of different joining techniques, various surface effects and working from a cartoon. You will learn how to successfully weave horizontal, vertical, diagonal, circular, and curving shapes. We will also explore different ways of blending and mixing colors. Using various techniques, students will achieve both regular and irregular blending with single or multiple strands of yarn. More experienced students will work on a more complex design of their choosing. You will be able to select from a number of designs or come prepared with your own original design concept.
